This is a resource which can be used by nursing staff at Western Health for the introduction of bedside handover. The aim of performing a clinical handover at the bedside is to provide a more accurate exchange of information on caring for the patient. It is hoped that there will be an improvement in the amount and the accuracy of information transferred between nursing staff. Bedside handover allows patients to participate and take an active role in their treatment and nursing care. Effective communication is paramount to patient care and safety.
